Gratitude is underrated as a leadership tool.
We know about the power of gratitude to change our mindset, our ability to see broadly and learn, and to relieve stress. But can it really help leaders?
Gratitude focused on people is perhaps one of the most underrated tools in the leadership toolbox. Pausing to first internally not only be grateful for what got done but the people who did it – recognizing their strengths, the challenges and how they enable your success as a leader – that type of gratitude will naturally lead to leadership that knows how to empower, motivate, enable, develop and retain the talent needed to move forward. It also is a key factor in developing a space where employees feel like they belong – where they are seen, heard and valued.
Try it out! Focus your appreciation and excitement this week on the people behind the tasks and see what happens! #leadership#people#change#mindset
